About

The Théâtre de la Concorde presents 24 Place Beaumarchais, a production written by Adèle Gascuel and performed by Brahim Koutari. This work blends stand-up, rap, and classical theater to explore life stories far beyond traditional stereotypes. It offers a powerful reflection on social identity and the personal journey of finding one's place within society. The show runs from October 30 to November 7, 2026, with performances taking place from Tuesday to Saturday. Targeted at audiences aged 13 and older, this theatrical experience is available for a price range of 8€ to 15€.

Written by author Adèle Gascuel based on his own story, the text captures a vivid, direct, and deeply embodied voice. It weaves together the language of the neighborhood, stand-up, rap, Moroccan Arabic, the language of prayer, as well as Molière and Shakespeare. This plurality of languages and registers creates theater that remains close to life, far removed from clichés about the suburbs or predictable tales of exemplary success.

On stage, Brahim Koutari creates everything in full view. Locations shift, memories arise, and stories are reenacted. What emerges is not just the tale of a man who "found his place" in theater, but that of a deeper gesture: bringing a world, a memory, an identity, and a reality often left out of frame along with him. As director Catherine Hargreaves writes, the show is not a mere testimony; it was born from an encounter—that of a trio—a way of reminding us that theater can also become a common ground.

Blending life story, direct address to the audience, and powerful embodiment, 24 Place Beaumarchais is a show of transmission that is both vital and unifying. It delivers a voice that speaks of the violence of societal labeling, but also of the possibility of moving the lines and reclaiming one's place, to invite others to enter the theater in turn.
