About
Step into the world of the GIRAFE institute at the Théâtre Tristan Bernard, where two scientists unveil the cynical mechanics of winning elections. In this sharp satire, you will master the postures, rhetoric, and visual codes required to conquer any political race. Blending humor with a breakdown of campaign strategies, this interactive performance invites you to step into the shoes of a candidate. Suitable for audiences aged 15 and up, the show uses videos and projections to reveal the inner workings of political communication. A witty and insightful experience to prepare you for the next electoral cycles with a sharper eye.
What is it about?
Two scientists claim to have found a method which, if followed to the letter, allows one to win any election. With little regard for ethics, they pass on to an audience of future candidates (the public) all the tools necessary to run a successful campaign.
Editor's Review
The performance begins even before the curtain rises: a man paces the aisles of the small Théâtre Tristan Bernard (8th arrondissement), greets the spectators, shakes hands with some, and thanks others for attending his lecture. A lecture? Yes: welcome to the GIRAFE institute, short for "Interdisciplinary Research Group for Accessing Electoral Functions". The tone is set! On stage, two scientists address us as if we were attending a seminar to prepare for running in an election. Their goal: to provide us with the keys to winning a ballot... even the 2027 presidential one.
With a rhythm and humor that never falter, the show works to dissect the codes of French politicians: the name, the posture, the attire, the remarks, the campaign poster, the repartee, the double-speak, how many times a word is used, etc. The logorrhea may be confusing at first, but the text is carefully illustrated: projected images, broadcast videos, and audio clips are shared.
All parties take a hit. And while the writing may sometimes lack a bit of finesse, one must admit the satire is delightful. The behind-the-scenes of some major campaigns are dissected, communication mechanisms revealed in broad daylight, with instructive pedagogy. It's enough to look at the next electoral deadlines with a slightly more informed eye.

Our take on this event
Located in the 8th arrondissement, the Théâtre Tristan Bernard presents "L’Art d’avoir toujours raison" from August 20, 2026, to November 14, 2026. Written by Logan de Carvalho and Sébastien Valignat, the play introduces the Interdisciplinary Research Group for Accessing Electoral Functions (GIRAFE). From the moment you arrive, you are treated as a participant in a seminar where experts explain how to secure victory at the polls, prioritizing effectiveness over ethics.
Actors Maïa Le Fourn, David Guez, Aurore Paris, and Thibaut Perrenoud dissect the tricks of the trade, from managing body language to mastering political jargon. Through a series of video clips, audio recordings, and projections, the performance highlights the art of campaign posters and media strategies. Every political party is fair game in this fast-paced show that turns electioneering into a precise, albeit humorous, science.
The show is open to spectators aged 15 and over. Tickets are priced at 38 € for 1st category and 30 € for 2nd category. A special rate of 11 € is available for students and those under 26 years old.
