The Rutebeuf Theater inaugurates this season a new event dedicated to emerging Clichy creation. To open this highlight, we are hosting Do the Right Thing, the first text by the Clichy-based director Clémentine Billy.
Nourished by the testimonies of former residents of the Sanzillon estate, this show sits at the border of documentary and fiction. In a housing estate slated for demolition, several residents see their foundations waver. Faced with uncertainty, they attempt to preserve what connects them: their memories, their neighborhood, and the bonds they have forged over the years.
Carried by six performers, this contemporary fable blends humor, emotion, and collective energy to tell the story of a moment when a familiar place is about to disappear. Through intimate trajectories, it questions our relationship with memory, urban transformations, and the place that everyone seeks to find in a world in constant motion.
Created from a story deeply rooted in the Clichy territory, Do the Right Thing takes a sensitive and deeply human look at those who inhabit the city.
