Le Grand Parquet hosts a unique artistic performance on December 3, 2026, titled Changer #1 – Le Désir. Conceived by Marie Mortier and Fahartadji Ahmed-Ibrahim, this show blends dance and spoken word to explore the journey of a woman seeking to break free from the expectations imposed by her family, education, and society. This presentation serves as a work-in-progress showcase following a residency period, allowing the audience an intimate look at the creative process. The event is free of charge and open to anyone aged 12 and up, inviting you to witness this act of artistic emancipation in the 18th arrondissement.

Desire, the first installment of the Changer triptych initiated by Marie Mortier, is the story of Fahartadji, a woman who wants to free herself from the projections imposed on her by her entourage, family, and school. It is a ritual of dance and speech, an act of emancipation.

Our take on this event

As part of the Changer triptych, Marie Mortier and Fahartadji Ahmed-Ibrahim present Le Désir, a project examining the external projections that weigh upon individual identities. Through the character of Fahartadji, this dance and spoken-word piece depicts a woman's resolve to liberate herself from the constraints placed upon her by her family and surroundings.

This event takes place on December 3, 2026, from 19:00 to 20:00 at Le Grand Parquet, located in the Jardins d'Eole. It is presented as a 'crash test,' a work-in-progress showing following a residency. This provides an excellent opportunity for attendees to discover the development of this piece during its creative phase. Admission is free for all audience members 12 years of age and older.
