About

Dive into the fast-paced world of "La Zone indigo," a gripping sci-fi thriller directed by Mélody Mourey at the Théâtre des Béliers parisiens. When a whale equipped with recording devices washes ashore, a team of researchers led by Cléo Marson uncovers a conspiracy that threatens global stability and civil rights. Through a blend of high-speed storytelling and immersive digital scenography, the play examines the impact of technology on our society. Seating is on a general admission basis; please arrive at the venue 30 minutes before showtime to collect your tickets and join the queue.

What is it about?

When a sperm whale equipped with recorders washes up on the Atlantic coast, bioacoustician Cléo Marson and her team are tasked with investigating the origin of this espionage attempt. They have no idea that their findings could force them to flee their country, upset the world order, and put millions of lives at risk.

The Indigo Zone is an anticipatory thriller that follows a small group of researchers, all faced with the same dilemma: to resist, should you flee or stay?

The editorial staff's opinion

Scientists and linguists fighting against fascism, cetaceans communicating with humans, a government positioning itself to encroach on civil rights... Take a deep breath, and here we go! You don't know it yet, but you are going to be gripped by a play that moves at 100 miles an hour. With Mélody Mourey, things go fast, very fast. For the director, rhythm is a language: the pace is there, the references are multiple, and the scenes tumble like dominoes, pushing us to reflect or eliciting a laugh.

In this ecological dystopia, the theme is primarily based on a reflection: is artificial intelligence really the problem, or does it only reveal trends already present in our society? As The Indigo Zone unfolds, questions arise to infuse the final minutes of the show. A way of extending the tension established at the beginning of the play.

The set itself is composed of video projections and flows of scientific data, clearly supporting the idea that we live in a world that is monitored, but above all saturated with images and information that we do not always grasp, that we do not question. To the point of becoming suffocating. Very powerful.

Through rapid-fire dialogue and a stage design saturated with scientific data and video projections, the play creates an intense, suffocating atmosphere that mirrors our modern information-heavy world.
