About

Collectif Bajour presents FauWst at La Maison des Métallos, a modern and gender-neutral reimagining of the classic Faust myth. Following the journey of Gabriell, who discovers a world shaped by techno-fascism and ecological collapse, the performance invites audiences aged 14 and up to imagine new ways of living. The venue is fully accessible to wheelchair users, with specific provisions for blind or visually impaired visitors, including a tactile stage tour on November 21st. It is a bold exploration of our current relationship with technology, capitalism, and the environment through the lens of collective creation.

This is how Gabriell is born, a child raised in secret, far from the world. When she is torn from this paradise, she sets out to trace her parents' footsteps and discovers a universe devastated by techno-fascism, ecological disasters, and shattered utopias. Her initiatory journey becomes a quest for joy, beauty, and strength to collectively imagine a world different from that of adults.

This reinterpretation of the Faust myth reiterates Goethe’s gesture while erasing its virile and romantic dimension. It questions our modern pacts with the Devil: technology, capitalism, and the destruction of the living world. Created from improvisations and stage writing, the show explores the light and shadow of our desire to create, understand, and repair the world.
