About

In the time of Bach, Germany did not yet exist. It was a collection of principalities, duchies, and free cities, with organs, harpsichords, and musicians everywhere. Music was composed in Lübeck, Leipzig, Nuremberg… and Vienna.

This concert begins before Bach, with slightly forgotten masters whom Bach admired so much that he traveled across the country on foot to hear them. Then comes Bach himself, and finally Vienna, with Mozart and Beethoven. We will also discover Marianna Martinez and Maria Theresia von Paradis, two composers who were acclaimed in their time and then forgotten.

Between pieces, DOm Paulin shares the stories behind the works and their composers. No musical knowledge is required to enjoy it. The concert lasts one hour.

This is the first part of a trilogy dedicated to Germany and Austria, as part of "Land of Music," the series by the association Et voilà!, which takes the audience on a journey from country to country.
