Free Concert: Monsters and Chimeras
A narrated concert on piano and synthesizers, conjuring up the monsters of European tales and the spirits of Japan.
Studio L'Accord Parfait (Paris 18th)
About
Ever since humans have been afraid of the dark, they have filled their nights with creatures. Classical music has always welcomed them with pleasure: fire-breathing dragons, ill-mannered ogres, ghosts in white shirts, but also lovesick beasts and Puss in Boots.
The journey continues to Japan, with the yōkai, those spirits that haunt the nights. We also encounter tsukumogami: everyday objects that come to life after a hundred years of existence. Here, it is forgotten instruments that start singing again.
Between piano, small instruments, and synthesizers, DOm Paulin tells the stories and plays the music of this great nocturnal parade. His monsters are frightening, mischievous, and sometimes a little melancholic. No musical knowledge is necessary to enjoy it.
