About

A piano, a violin and a cello: together, they traverse the 19th-century German musical landscape, a century of great emotions and deep friendships.

It was also a time when women were often told they were not meant to compose. Fanny Mendelssohn, Felix's older sister, had to wait until she was in her forties to publish under her own name. Emilie Mayer wrote eight symphonies and a dozen trios. She was nicknamed "the female Beethoven," which mostly kept her in the shadow of the original.

From Haydn, who invented the piano trio, to Brahms, who brought it to its peak, the Hedy Trio explores every facet of this formation: tender, stormy, intimate, or flamboyant. Between pieces, DOm Paulin shares the stories behind the works and their composers. No musical knowledge is required to enjoy the performance. The concert lasts one hour.

Featuring the Hedy Trio: DOm Paulin (piano and narration), Nadiia Kramarenko (violin) and Nicolas Boucher (cello).

This is the second installment of the trilogy dedicated to Germany and Austria, part of "Terre de musiques," a series by the Et voilà ! association that takes the audience on a journey from country to country.

Experience a unique musical evening on March 8, 2027, at Studio L'Accord Parfait. The Hedy Trio—DOm Paulin on piano and narration, Nadiia Kramarenko on violin, and Nicolas Boucher on cello—will perform a program dedicated to the German and Austrian repertoire. This concert represents the second chapter of the Terre de musiques cycle organized by the association Et voilà!.

The repertoire spans from Haydn, the pioneer of the piano trio, to Brahms. The performance also challenges historical norms by featuring works by Fanny Mendelssohn and the prolific Emilie Mayer, often unfairly overshadowed by their male peers. DOm Paulin provides context between pieces, sharing anecdotes about the composers and the evolution of the genre. The event is designed to be accessible to all, regardless of musical background.

The performance runs from 20:00 to 21:00 and is completely free of charge. Admission is reserved for guests aged 12 and older.
