Synopsis:
In the 16th century, an alchemist invents a strange mechanism to achieve eternal life. In modern-day Mexico City, Jesús Gris, an elderly antique dealer, discovers the Cronos device hidden inside a statue. The object injects him with a powerful venom that restores his strength and youth, but makes him dependent on human blood. Having become a monster, Jesús can only count on the help of his granddaughter. The duo must fight against a wealthy businessman consumed by illness, who is willing to do anything to possess the mysterious device.

Guillermo del Toro
Guillermo del Toro Gómez (Guadalajara, Jalisco, October 9, 1964) is a Mexican film director, screenwriter, and producer. He has won the Goya Award and has been a multiple-time winner of the Ariel Award. He has also won a Golden Globe and three Oscars: Best Director and Best Picture for *The Shape of Water*, as well as Best Animated Feature for *Pinocchio*.
He began filming in Mexico as a teenager, while a student at the Institute of Sciences of Guadalajara, in the state of Jalisco. He spent ten years in the makeup design field and created his own company, Necropia, before becoming the executive producer of his first film at the age of 21. He was a co-founder of the Guadalajara Film Festival and created the production company Tequila Gang. In November 2022, the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) awarded him an honorary doctorate for his "contributions to culture and support for youth".
