Synopsis :
Campeón Gabacho tells the story of Liborio, an endearing and mischievous young migrant whose only talent is taking hits. He crosses the Rio Grande to escape a difficult reality in Mexico in search of a better life in the United States, settling in a Latino neighborhood in New York. With punches, love, and words, he faces the cultural barriers and prejudices that threaten his hopes, becoming a hero in an unknown land.
Jonás Cuarón
Jonás Cuarón is a director, screenwriter, and producer, known for Gravity (co-writer), Desierto (winner of the FIPRESCI Prize at TIFF), and Chupa (Netflix, 2023). His work spans both fiction and documentary, with films such as Año uña and The Shock Doctrine, presented at the Venice and Thessaloniki festivals.
