About
Le Carreau du Temple presents La Tendresse du ventre de la baleine, a dance piece by Géraldine Chollet. As part of the Swiss Dance Week 2026, this performance blends dance and music to explore human connection and solidarity. Eight dancers move among the audience, accompanied by a singer-guitarist and a DJ, in an intense sensory experience. Shows take place on November 17 and 18, 2026, from 21:00 to 22:10. The venue is wheelchair accessible and adapted for deaf, hard-of-hearing, blind, or visually impaired individuals. Tickets are priced between 11 and 22 euros.
A blue wave, like a unifying movement, flows through the audience in creative gentleness. Where pulse and rhythm become the vital forces of a piece of dance, music, and above all, relationships. An act of sharing, sensory and free.
Géraldine Chollet choreographs relationships in transformation, envisioning dance as a means to create connection, care, and solidarity. Hence the idea of tenderness, as she draws free inspiration from the myth of Jonah, who traverses the sea inside the belly of a whale. Jonah is eventually spat out, carrying with him fragments of a forgotten dance: the dance of joy, the deep resonances of which Chollet explores in everyone. This immemorial memory invites sharing and openness, as Jonah's journey is referenced in Christian, Jewish, and Islamic scriptures.
And the encounter is sure to happen. The audience takes their place in a square space to be surrounded and even traversed by eight dancers, all dressed in blue, arriving in waves between delicacy and frenzy, accompanied by a guitarist-singer and a DJ. Winner of the Swiss Performing Arts Award, Géraldine Chollet invites you to an intense, sensory experience that allows for the exploration of our deepest inner whirlpools.
