About

Art Basel Paris returns to the Grand Palais from October 23 to October 25, 2026, bringing together global creativity and the unique spirit of the city. Visitors can explore a vast array of artistic works under the historic glass dome, ranging from emerging talents to new acquisitions from the City of Paris contemporary art collection. This major cultural event is designed to be inclusive, offering full wheelchair accessibility, specific facilities for blind or visually impaired visitors, and dedicated support for deaf or hard-of-hearing guests, including sign language services.

Art Basel Paris reflects a city defined by contrast and exchange – from gilded palaces and picturesque cafés to the youth, diversity, and underground cultures that shape the Paris of today. Under the glass dome of the Grand Palais, these stories, cultures, and ideas come together to engage in dialogue.

Undeniably Parisian in character, international in its vision. Beyond its vast scale and ambition, the moments that remain with us are often personal, whether it is discovering an unknown artist or falling in love with a work of art. Art Basel Paris brings worlds together; what stays with you belongs entirely to you.

The Contemporary Art Fund – Paris collections

Initiated in 1816, the municipal collection today holds more than 23,400 works. It brings together a modern collection, from 1914 to 1969, composed mainly of paintings; a so-called "historical" collection from before 1914, the initial core of the Fund; and finally, the contemporary collection, starting from 1970, which brings together all mediums and is enriched each year thanks to an ambitious acquisition policy, in response to the historical and ongoing mission of supporting creative actors. Its specificity is its ambitious off-site dissemination policy, via three artistic and cultural education and mediation programs: Art at School (schoolchildren and daycares), Art to Share (social sector and cultural institutions of Paris), and College Collection.

This year, the City will present a selection of new acquisitions. Discover them on the first floor, to the right of the grand staircase, during your visit.
