The Trocadéro library, named Germaine Tillion in 2010, opened its doors in 1976 in the immediate vicinity of the Place du Trocadéro. On the occasion of its fiftieth anniversary, it is partnering with the Fonds d'art contemporain - Paris collections to offer an exhibition to its visitors. It thus echoes the initiative of Jean Nouvel who, as the library's decorator in 1976, had chosen eight "Pompiers" paintings and two statues from the reserves of the Petit-Palais and the Municipal Fund for Contemporary Art (which became the Fonds d'art contemporain - Paris collections in 2019) that were exhibited until the end of the 80s.
To celebrate this anniversary, the Fonds d'art contemporain presents a selection of works acquired in the 1970s, placed in dialogue with works by young creators. They will thus form four duos conversing around their aesthetics, their subject, their colors, or their technique.
As part of the fiftieth anniversary of the Germaine Tillion/Trocadéro library and in partnership with the Fonds d'art contemporain - Paris collections.
