About

In 1974, after bringing an end to the L’Hourloupe cycle, Jean Dubuffet, then over 70 years old, began a new chapter in his creative work. Over ten years of intense production, he explored new artistic paths, navigating freely between figuration and non-figuration.

Between 1974 and 1985, he created more than 1,500 paintings and 1,000 drawings, organized into around twenty series. This late period bears witness to the freedom of gesture and the constant audacity that characterized Jean Dubuffet's practice.
