About
In our Éphémère Galerie at Comptoir des Voyages on Rue Saint-Victor in Paris, discover On the Shores of Asia, an exhibition by artist Rosemary Taleb-Rivière. Fascinated by the intersection of cultural heritage and vibrant landscapes, she spent several months traveling through Asia. Between shores and volcanoes, her ink drawings recount the power of the elements and the beauty of the lives that depend on them, in a sensitive tribute to a planet shaped and celebrated by ancestral cultures.
Rosemary Taleb-Rivière discovered China during her art history studies. She has visited several times since 2013. Her 2019 trip led to her first sketchbook, the starting point of a vocation: drawing others in black ink, a style that has become her artistic signature. Since then, between literary and artistic projects, exhibitions, and festivals, she continues this dialogue with the world.
This exhibition retraces a collection of ink works created over nine months of travel. Six months following the coasts from Thailand to Japan in 2023, then three months hiking active and extinct volcanoes in the Japanese archipelago in 2025. While she set out to encounter cultures, the charms of the blue horizons and the richness of nature ultimately became the main subject. An ode to our planet, cherished by ancestral cultures. Come admire or purchase the works. The artist, present throughout the duration of the exhibition, will be happy to discuss them with you.
