The Maurice Ravel Paris Anim' Centre in the 12th arrondissement presents Étreintes, an exhibition by artist Angela Bonavita. Through a series of paintings that blend abstraction and figuration, the collection explores human connections and the vital need for physical contact in an increasingly digital world. These works depict moving bodies and raw emotions, encouraging viewers to rediscover the power of presence and genuine interaction. The exhibition is free to enter and fully wheelchair accessible, offering an inclusive space for visitors to engage with these sensitive pieces until October 15, 2026.
The CPA Maurice Ravel features an artistic exhibition space known as the Galerie Maurice Ravel. Each season, this gallery hosts several exhibitions showcasing various techniques representative of contemporary artistic creation (painting, drawing, photography, collage, printmaking, digital creation, urban art, etc.).
Through these exhibitions, we make it a point of honor to offer our audiences the opportunity to discover art in varied and original forms and to meet artists from diverse backgrounds, particularly during exhibition openings.
Back-to-school exhibition: "Angela Bonavita's Étreintes Exhibition", from September 15 to October 15, 2026 👩🎨
Free exhibition with open access
The Étreintes (Embraces) exhibition explores human relationships through expressive and sensitive painting. The paintings depict bodies in motion, encounters, tensions, and deep emotions. Blurring the line between abstraction and figuration, Angela Bonavita uses material, color, and gesture to translate the desire for proximity in a world where relationships often become virtual.
Through these works, the artist invites young people to overcome the fear of real contact and to rediscover the power of emotions experienced in the presence of others. Social networks create fast but sometimes superficial connections; painting reminds us here of the importance of the gaze, touch, the embrace, and human encounter.
Each canvas thus becomes a space of emotion, fragility, and truth, where bodies tell what words and screens cannot express.
