About

The Palais de Tokyo presents a cinematic exhibition dedicated to Rose Lowder from October 21, 2026, to February 14, 2027. This showcase highlights five decades of visual experimentation through 16mm film, focusing on the interplay between natural landscapes and rapid image sequences. The central piece, La Source de la Loire, filmed at Mont Gerbier de Jonc, is presented alongside twenty short films titled Bouquets, captured in various organic farms. Tickets are priced between 9 and 13 euros. It is an invitation to observe how the artist explores biodiversity and human perception through the lens of a traditional camera.

Until now rarely shown in exhibition contexts, the cinema of Rose Lowder has for fifty years constituted a research into visual perception, through an observation of nature captured by a 16mm camera, intertwining images in rapid flow in sites where biodiversity is preserved. The Source of the Loire (2019-2021), filmed on Mont Gerbier de Jonc, forms the heart of this presentation, and is accompanied by two "Bouquets": twenty films of one minute each, shot on organic farms and properties, mostly in the South of France where the artist also resides.
