About
The Paris Week against Discrimination returns from 10:00, October 10th to October 17th, 2026, featuring a city-wide series of free events. Aimed at promoting social equality, the initiative presents exhibitions, lectures, film screenings, and workshops across various districts. This year’s theme centers on intersectionality, examining how different forms of prejudice, from racism and sexism to social status, overlap and amplify one another. It is an ideal opportunity for residents and visitors to engage with local activists and organizations. With events scattered throughout the capital, this week serves as a vital platform for public discussion and civic education on human rights issues.
For one week, associations, institutions, and local stakeholders mobilize throughout the capital with a free program: exhibitions, conferences, screenings, workshops, debates, and performances.
For this anniversary edition, the chosen theme is intersectionality, to better understand how different forms of discrimination can intersect and reinforce each other: racism, antisemitism, sexism, LGBTQIA+phobias, ableism, or discrimination based on origin, religion, or social status. The event takes place across numerous arrondissements and partner venues to reach all audiences. The goal is to make this week a space for civic engagement while giving visibility to those who fight against discrimination all year round. The full program will be gradually updated in September as the event approaches.
- Note: this event is part of a broader mobilization throughout October, including the Paris Film Festival Against Discrimination, organized from October 7 to 13, 2026
Our take on this event
From October 10th to October 17th, 2026, Paris hosts an extensive program of events focused on fighting discrimination. The 2026 edition highlights intersectionality, providing a space to explore how various prejudices—including antisemitism, LGBTQIA+phobia, ableism, and discrimination based on religion or origin—intersect and influence social life. All activities, ranging from debates and workshops to artistic performances, are entirely free of charge.
The events are spread across numerous districts, involving a wide array of local associations and institutional partners. Visitors are encouraged to check the updated schedule starting in September for specific details. As part of a broader mobilization throughout October, the Paris Ciné contre les Discri' Festival will also take place from October 7th to October 13th, 2026. This week serves as both an educational platform and a tribute to the individuals and organizations dedicated to combating inequality throughout the year.
