Nocturne (Parade), a marvelous journey through the darkness at the Théâtre Silvia Monfort
Forget everything you thought you knew about puppetry as plastic forms come alive, dancing at the whim of powerful invisible currents. This sensory performance blurs the lines between reality and artifice, crafting a haunting, poetic reflection on our turbulent modern world. A rare, mesmerizing spectacle that lingers in the mind long after the house lights return.
Théâtre Silvia Monfort (Paris 15th)
About
In a circular setting, the wind awakens multiple figures that take shape before us. The stage then transforms into an unstable landscape, subject to an invisible force. A mysterious, unsettling universe appears, resonating strangely with our era, which is going through profound climatic and political upheavals. There is no linear narrative, only fragments and flashes of insight. To a powerful soundtrack, plastic puppets, animal shapes, and human silhouettes come to life in a continuous flow, between grace and anxiety.
The third installment of Pièces du Vent (Wind Pieces), this show creates a rare sensory experience, where the imagination opens a breach to think about the present differently.
“Phia Ménard’s new creation blows the wind of revolt and stirs a great breath of poetry.” Les Échos
“Inflated and moved by the breaths of air, these makeshift puppets compose the sumptuous and poignant ballet of a world going off the rails.” La Terrasse
