THE VEILS
Following the critically acclaimed release of Asphodels in 2025, The Veils return with a bold and reinvigorated new album, Fragile World, available June 19 via V2 Records.
Arriving just over a year after their previous record, Fragile World marks a striking shift in tone and energy for the band.
The album's title reflects both the current moment—a time when many institutions seem to be collapsing before our eyes—and serves as a metaphor for the act of creation itself. The musical songwriting process, explains Andrews, is a delicate and fragile undertaking, where thousands of small decisions eventually come together to form a finished whole.
The Veils have toured consistently throughout their 20+ year career, building a reputation as one of the world's great live bands. In addition to a fruitful collaboration with El-P of Run the Jewels on the album Total Depravity (2016), their music has been praised by directors Paolo Sorrentino, Tim Burton, and David Lynch, who have featured it in their soundtracks.
The Veils made their grand return to the stage in 2023/24 with sold-out shows across Europe, North America, and Australasia between 2023 and 2025. The band will embark on a more extensive tour in 2026 to support the release of Fragile World.

Few songwriters trace paths as singular as Anthonie Tonnon. While his experiments with synthesizers and sampling may alter his sonic palette, one constant remains: his lyrical writing and his live performances, which stand as creative works in their own right.
Winner of New Zealand's highest album award, the Taite Music Prize, for Leave Love Out Of This in 2022, Tonnon returns with new tracks and a set that swaps guitar for vocoder, transforms two Synthstrom Deluge units into honorary CDJs, and draws stage inspiration from turn-of-the-millennium dance culture, cinema, and the Situationist movement.
