The Ant Mill. An exhibition by Eliott Gamer

Ants worthy of Titan. Around their own invisible but magnetic star, they spin disproportionately with only exhaustion as salvation. Restless and curious, the painted, drawn, and sculpted figures of artist Eliott Gamer observe them. How can one not be carried away?

About

An exhibition by the artist Eliott Gamer

Curator: Rémi Enguehard

Opening: October 22, from 6:00 PM

In an ant mill, the ants begin to follow each other in a closed circle. Blind, they eventually die of exhaustion. This phenomenon is an opportunity for artist Eliott Gamer to continue his explorations of the body in motion in a new exhibition of paintings, drawings, and sculptures. Curious and anxious characters observe this dance of ants, a metaphor for our own societal and inner movements. A choreography is set in motion where body and mind act in concert in search of freedom.

Dates: from Monday, October 22 to Sunday, October 25, 2026

Location: at 78 Temple, 78 rue du Temple, 75003 Paris

Eliott Gamer

Eliott Gamer's work focuses on bodies in motion, deployed in layered worlds with echoes of fantastic fables and spiritual narratives.

A self-taught painter, initially trained in animation, he developed his drawing practice in tattooing, from which some characteristic emblems emerge: strained, slightly evanescent bodies, plays on scale, intersecting worlds, ancestral symbols, and mythological figures.

Wrestling and playful, elusive or intrigued, always compelling, the figures that populate his work embody the inner back-and-forth that shapes us. A perpetual movement, rhythmic with doubts and impulses, flows through his characters and is transmitted to the viewer through the silent eloquence of a posture, a gaze, or a slight gesture of hands and fingers.

Writing, drawing, ceramics, and painting; the artist cherishes these plural expressions of the same search. This gesture allows him to extract himself from repetition, logic, or habit in a work characterized by a contagious freedom.

Eliott Gamer was born in 1990 in Paris; he lives and works in Marseille. He has presented his work in several collective exhibitions in Nantes, Paris (Le Wonder, Bobigny), and Belfast (Naughton Gallery) and presents a new solo exhibition in Paris in 2026.

Performance: Parisa Mousavi, guest artist

Queen of Termite Colony, Keeper of Marble’s Lost-Soot-Seed

Sunday, October 25, 4:00 PM

Invited to extend the starting point of Eliott Gamer's exhibition through her own research, Iranian choreographer and performance artist Parisa Mousavi presents her work of "insectography," where the study of insect organization and choreography meet. Individual and collective movements are developed and revealed through sound, chemical, and vibratory communication systems.

A 2026 graduate of the Beaux-Arts de Paris, previously trained at the Tehran University of Art and the Palucca University of Dance in Dresden, the choreographer mixes performance and sculpture. Her work explores how bodies collectively negotiate spatial structures and how movement can generate new forms of perception and interaction. In recent years, she has approached movement and sculpture as large-scale living systems, echoing human and non-human organizations.

Our take on this event

Some patterns repeat themselves until they become a cage, a concept beautifully captured by artist Eliott Gamer in his latest showcase of sculptures and paintings. Wander through these whimsical, restless figures that challenge our own internal rhythm and urge you to break free from the habitual.

Artist Eliott Gamer presents his new exhibition, Le moulin à fourmis, at 78 Temple. Through paintings, drawings, and sculptures, the artist examines the mechanics of the body in motion, inspired by the self-destructive cycle of ants trapped in a circular march. This project serves as a metaphor for social structures and internal human struggles. The exhibition is free of charge and fully wheelchair accessible. Visitors are invited to explore the collection in the 3rd arrondissement of Paris from Thursday, October 22 to Sunday, October 25, 2026, between 10:00 and 20:00.

Located at 78 rue du Temple, this solo exhibition curated by Rémi Enguehard showcases the latest creative explorations of Eliott Gamer. His work, deeply influenced by his background in animation and tattooing, brings together delicate figures and mythological symbols to reflect on the perpetual movement of life. Through sculpture, painting, and drawing, the artist challenges the habits and logical patterns that define our daily existence, seeking a form of contagious freedom.

The event begins with an opening reception on October 22 from 18:00. On Sunday, October 25 at 16:00, visiting artist and choreographer Parisa Mousavi will perform Queen of Termite Colony, Keeper of Marble’s Lost-Soot-Seed. Her unique practice, termed 'insectography,' explores how collective movement and spatial structures interact, providing a performative dialogue with Gamer's visual works.

The exhibition is open to the public from October 22 to October 25, 2026, with daily hours from 10:00 to 20:00. No reservation is required to visit. The venue is fully accessible to wheelchair users, ensuring a welcoming experience for all visitors interested in this intersection of contemporary visual art and movement-based performance.
