My Costume of Light - Family cyanotype workshop, based on the exhibition 'The Artist's Fabric'

Forget the brushes and harness the power of sunlight to print intricate botanical patterns onto fabric. Channeling the legendary indigo-dyed workwear of historical masters, this workshop lets both kids and adults design wearable art pieces that celebrate nature’s shapes. It is the perfect chance to experiment with light-reactive magic and craft something truly extraordinary together.

About

The Musée Bourdelle hosts a creative workshop on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, centered around the exhibition The Artist’s Fabric. Families are invited to explore the cyanotype printing process, using flowers and leaves to design intricate costumes inspired by the works of Paul Gauguin and Rosa Bonheur. This two-hour session, suitable for children aged 6 and up, is fully wheelchair accessible and adapted for visitors with cognitive disabilities. To secure your spot, booking via the Paris Musées online ticketing system is mandatory. Immerse yourself in this artistic experience located in the 15th arrondissement and discover the historical techniques of indigo dyeing.

Following the model of the artist's costume that Bourdelle dyed himself in indigo blue, children and adults alike will imagine floral costumes using leaves and flowers from the gardens, thanks to the cyanotype technique. The patterns are revealed by light and echo the costumes of Paul Gauguin or Rosa Bonheur.
