About

Experience the creative world of the Musée Bourdelle with the textile workshop 'Mon nécessaire à couture', inspired by the exhibition 'L’étoffe de l’artiste' and the artistic practices of Foujita. Over two hours, participants hand-stitch their own sewing accessories, including needle cases and tape measure boxes, finished with a handmade fabric pouch. This activity is perfect for families with children aged 12 and up and takes place in an accessible venue suitable for wheelchair users and those with cognitive disabilities. Booking in advance via the official online ticket office is required to secure your spot for these morning sessions.

Like Foujita, a great sewing enthusiast, participants will be able to hand-sew their own accessories: needle holders and tape measure boxes to take home in a small fabric pouch.

Audience: for families, ages 12 and up

Duration: 2h

From 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM
Full price: 10 € + exhibition ticket

Our take on this event

The Musée Bourdelle welcomes textile enthusiasts to explore the 'L’étoffe de l’artiste' exhibition through a hands-on sewing session. Drawing inspiration from Foujita’s own love for needlework, you will craft bespoke sewing tools, such as custom needle cases and tape measure boxes, all contained within a unique fabric pouch you create yourself during the workshop.

Sessions take place on October 18th, October 29th, November 22nd, and December 20th, 2026, running from 10:30 to 12:30. The workshop is designed for families with participants aged 12 and older. The venue is fully wheelchair accessible and offers an environment adapted for those with cognitive disabilities.

Tickets must be purchased online through Paris Musées. Adults should book at the full rate of 10 €, and children at the reduced rate of 8 €. Please note that an exhibition ticket is required in addition to the workshop fee, though the exhibition admission itself is free of charge for children attending the workshop.
