About
For a long time, the history of France has overlooked certain figures from diverse and distant backgrounds. This exhibition, conceived by the National Museum of Natural History and the ACHAC Research Group, offers a new approach: a chronicle of French history that is more open to the world, to those from overseas territories or immigrant backgrounds.
Presented today by SOS Racisme, this exhibition echoes the values and battles upheld by the association: far from identity withdrawal, it instead highlights the portraits of those who make up the wealth of France and its history. Far from the scents of hatred, racism, antisemitism, and discrimination, the exhibition invites us to place on an equal footing those personalities who contributed to forging the strong values of our Republic: liberty, equality, fraternity. Against discrimination based on origin, the exhibition path invites everyone to project themselves into this shared history through a selection of 14 panels spanning the eras up to the present day.
