About

Théâtre du Chariot presents Tristes en été, a contemporary play exploring body image and societal norms through the eyes of three women in a gym. Using theater, live music, and movement, the piece examines how adolescent memories continue to shape adulthood. This performance is suitable for audiences aged 12 and up and features inclusive accessibility, welcoming guests in wheelchairs as well as those with cognitive disabilities or visual impairments. Tickets are available ranging from 14.90 to 21.42 euros, offering an intimate look at the evolution of the female experience.

In a gym, three women find themselves face to face with the machines, their bodies, and the injunctions that run through them. As the effort intensifies, memories resurface: those of adolescence, the first transformations of the body, the gaze of others, and that strange period when we learn to build ourselves.

With Tristes en été, Adèle Bazar explores with humor and sensitivity our relationship with the body, performance, and the norms that shape young girls and later women. On stage, theater, movement, and live music mingle to bring out the memories, fragilities, and contradictions of these three characters.

A show that is at once physical, funny, and intimate, which questions what our bodies keep in memory of adolescence and how these experiences continue to accompany us into adulthood.

The press says
