"Radio Live - The Day After Ukraine" by Aurélie Charon & the Radio Live collective
Forget conventional stage shows, this is a raw immersion into the pulse of our modern world. Through the authentic testimonies of young voices from Kyiv and Cairo, the performance blends live music and documentary footage to map out the architecture of resilience. It is a powerful, gut-wrenching look at how humanity rebuilds itself in the shadow of history.

About
Aurélie Charon and the Radio Live collective bring « Radio Live - le jour d'après Ukraine » to Chaillot - Théâtre national de la Danse. This documentary performance blends music, video, and personal accounts to examine the themes of rebuilding and resilience through the voices of Ukrainian youth. Designed for audiences aged 13 and up, this world premiere bridges the gap between live theatre and radio broadcasting. The venue is fully accessible to wheelchair users, ensuring an inclusive experience for all attendees as they explore these powerful, real-life narratives captured during the creators' time on the ground.
A vast documentary project unlike any other in the history of live performance, Radio Live now unfolds in two new chapters, lived and written in Kyiv and Cairo. On stage, testimonies, dialogues, music, and images weave narratives shaped by the question of reconstruction.
For over ten years, Aurélie Charon has led a very singular project, situated between the stakes of documentary theater and the codes of live radio. Radio Live acts simultaneously as a portrait of generations and a long-term conversation about issues of commitment and transmission, telling the story of the world through the narratives of young people experiencing its most violent upheavals. Each chapter invites two people onto the stage, representing life paths that unfold through dialogue, video, and music. With Vivantes (presented at Chaillot in April 2024), Nos vies à venir, and Réuni.es, the collective opened a new cycle of this fresco. The two chapters of "the day after" form its second stage, nourished both by the bonds woven with those involved for several years and the vitality of new encounters. Over the course of stays in Ukraine and Egypt, they exchange their stories, questioning their parents, their cities, and their languages. These filmed moments fuel a collective logbook on stage, made of images, drawings, music, and spoken words. Every night, their exchanges are reenacted, differently, in the urgency of the present. These new chapters presented at Chaillot address the themes of reconstruction and repair, in a political and determined gesture: to be in motion, in action, and in creation to envision a common future.
