Live a unique experience blindfolded!

This workshop proposes to develop perception through senses other than sight and thus rediscover the almost imperceptible part of the senses, inhibited by the deluge of permanent visual and auditory demands. It will also be a question of overcoming prejudices linked to disability, understanding and potentially overcoming fears regarding disability and in particular blindness, and adopting an appropriate attitude towards blind or visually impaired people. It is already starting to fight against discrimination.

Reversing roles, living experiences that one is not used to living as a sighted person, leads to discovering other sensory possibilities. It is also about developing one's imagination, enriching one's mind through surprise and the unexpected by giving free rein to unexplored sensations.

By shifting the point of view, by putting oneself in the situation of a blind person, the participants approach perceptions that were hitherto dormant and that they are not necessarily used to mobilizing.

Participants will be invited to live unique sensory situations, blindfolded:

• tactile perceptions, touching materials, objects, sculptures, perceiving their dimensions, proportions and volumes
• sound perceptions, listening, finding one's way in a space thanks to sounds
• moving, moving in a given space that includes obstacles
• listening to the description of a painting or a photo: working on words and interior images (each person creates totally different mental images).
