About
Andreas Eriksson builds visual structures using blocks, layers, and brushstrokes, which can be interpreted as various ways of experiencing the world. Geological strata, minerals, moss, leaves, or bark… His paintings are overlays of materiality, accumulations of energy and time in varied densities and forms. His art is fundamentally linked to one single place: Medelplana, in southwest Sweden, near Lake Vänern.
Nicolas Gausserand is an exhibition curator. He currently serves as a special advisor to the presidency of the Musée d’Orsay and the Orangerie and oversees the contemporary art program at the Musée d’Orsay. His work focuses on transhistorical narratives, with particular attention to expanding the artistic canon within major French national institutions. At the Musée d’Orsay, he has curated exhibitions such as “The Day of Painters, 80 contemporary painters from the French scene,” “Elmgreen & Dragset, The Check,” “Bridget Riley, Point of Departure,” “Youssef Nabil, To Dream Again,” and “Jenny Holzer, I Saw.” Furthermore, he serves on the advisory board of the Domaine des Oseraies, is a jury member for the Fluxus Art Prize, and is a member of the executive committee of the Fondation Florence.
