About

In this workshop led by the engraving artist Léa Marchet, children and their parents are invited to bring to life a large procession of demonstrators in motion. By playing with sizes, depths, and perspectives, little creators explore how a crowd is built, from the horizon to us. Using stamps, stencils, and collages, they will compose a human tide in shades of gray, before slipping in their own character, vibrant with colors.

A playful and artistic experience to understand that, to come together as one body, every person counts.

A 4-handed workshop to share between you and the child you are accompanying. Everyone attending the workshop must book a place (children and accompanying adults).

Our take on this event

Artistic exploration meets family bonding in this workshop where dozens of figures transform into a sprawling crowd through stencils and textures. You and your little one will work together to layer black and white motifs before adding a single, vibrant burst of color to signify your place in the scene. It is a wonderful way to teach perspective while creating a collaborative masterpiece that proves everyone has their own distinct role.

Artist and engraver Léa Marchet hosts a creative workshop at the MAIF Social Club, inviting participants to explore the concept of a collective through visual arts. Running from October 14, 2026, to May 29, 2027, this experience focuses on building a human procession by experimenting with depth, perspective, and scale. Using stamps, stencils, and collage techniques, attendees will craft a grey-toned crowd before adding their own colorful, vibrant character to the composition. The event is free of charge and open to anyone aged 12 and over, with advance booking required for every attendee, including both children and their accompanying adults.

Located in the 3rd arrondissement, the MAIF Social Club offers a collaborative artistic session designed for pairs to create together. Under the guidance of engraver Léa Marchet, participants explore the mechanics of crowds by constructing a moving procession of figures on paper. The workshop teaches how to build a scene from the horizon line forward, emphasizing the importance of individual contribution within a larger group.

Using a blend of stencils, stamps, and collage, participants will first develop a sea of figures in shades of grey. Once the base is established, each person adds their own character, finished in vibrant colors to stand out from the collective mass. This exercise serves as a playful way to grasp how individual efforts form a cohesive whole.

Sessions take place between October 14, 2026, and May 29, 2027. The activity is suitable for those aged 12 and up. Admission is free, but please note that every individual, whether a child or an adult, must reserve a spot in advance to attend the workshop.
