About

For the start of the 2026 season, the Galerie Anne-Sarah Bénichou presents Fossil Rain, the third solo exhibition by Julien Discrit within its walls. It extends the cycle initiated by the artist in 2024 with ForEverReverB, the installation created for the 17th Lyon Biennale, centering on a single preoccupation: memory, captured simultaneously as an imprint, a recording, and a conservation.

Opening on Saturday, September 5, 2026 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM

Our take on this event

Fossils usually tell stories of the distant past, but here they become bridges to our own memories. Through an elegant blend of science and art, this exhibition invites you to contemplate how we imprint our lives onto the world around us. A thought-provoking stop that transforms a simple gallery visit into a journey through time.

The Anne-Sarah Bénichou gallery presents Pluie fossile, the third solo exhibition by artist Julien Discrit, running from September 5 to October 31, 2026. This free-to-attend exhibition in the 3rd arrondissement delves into the concepts of memory, traces, and preservation, building upon the artist's previous work ForEverReverB featured at the 17th Lyon Biennale. Visitors are invited to the opening event on Saturday, September 5, 2026, from 14:00 to 19:00. This exhibition offers a unique opportunity to engage with complex artistic inquiries regarding how history is recorded and maintained.

From September 5 until October 31, 2026, the Anne-Sarah Bénichou gallery hosts the solo exhibition Pluie fossile by Julien Discrit. This event marks the artist's third solo presentation within these walls and extends a cycle of work initiated in 2024 with the installation ForEverReverB, originally created for the 17th Lyon Biennale.

Central to this exhibition is an exploration of memory. The artist examines this theme through three main lenses: memory as an imprint, memory as a recording, and memory as a form of conservation. This conceptual framework invites viewers to reflect on the nature of persistence and time.

Admission is free for all visitors. The gallery, located at 45 rue Chapon in the 3rd arrondissement, welcomes the public to attend the opening reception on Saturday, September 5, 2026, from 14:00 to 19:00. The exhibition remains open to the public throughout the specified dates, providing a thoughtful space to experience Discrit's latest artistic inquiry.
