About

The Le Concert Impromptu ensemble presents Musiques de Papier at Le Pavillon de la Sirène on Sunday, November 8, 2026. This sensory performance turns paper into an instrument, blending the sounds of tearing, rubbing, and crinkling with the music of flutes, oboes, and clarinets. By combining dance and movement with wind instruments, the performance invites the audience to see sound in a playful, poetic way. Two 40-minute sessions are available, with tickets priced between 5 and 25 euros. Booking in advance is required to secure your spot for this unique exploration of acoustic materials.

In Paper Music, everything becomes sound and visual material, a pretext for play. Torn, rubbed, or crumpled paper becomes a source of music and dialogues with the bodies and wind instruments – flute, oboe, clarinet – of the Concert Impromptu.

Here, the senses are awakened; we discover familiar sounds, sometimes strange or funny, and to top it all off, dance and movement join the party to almost "see" the music.

Our take on this event

Join the Le Concert Impromptu ensemble on November 8, 2026, at Le Pavillon de la Sirène, located at 20, rue Dareau in the 14th arrondissement of Paris. Directed by Violaine Dufès, the Musiques de Papier show reimagines ordinary paper as a versatile musical medium. By crinkling, tearing, and rubbing paper, the performers create strange and familiar sounds that interact with the live wind instruments—specifically the flute, oboe, and clarinet.

Beyond simple listening, this performance incorporates dance and choreographed movement, allowing the audience to visualize the music as it unfolds. It is a creative dialogue between the physical properties of paper and artistic expression, designed to spark the imagination.

Two sessions are scheduled for the day: one from 11:00 to 11:40 and another from 16:00 to 16:40. Admission ranges from 5 to 25 euros. Please ensure you make a reservation to attend this distinctive event.
