Dans ma peau is a dance performance designed for toddlers from the age of 1 and their families. Two dancers use everyday clothing, fabrics, and textures to explore identity and the body, transforming their silhouettes through movement and song. This delicate performance draws inspiration from the daily discoveries children make as they learn to dress and recognize themselves. Hosted at the Médiathèque Jean d'Ormesson, this event is the result of artistic residencies held in local municipal nurseries in Clichy. The venue is fully wheelchair accessible, ensuring a comfortable experience for all families attending this sensory exploration.
In My Skin invites toddlers to discover their bodies through an object that accompanies them every day: clothing.
Two dancers play with fabrics, shapes, and everyday clothes. They hide, reveal, transform, and reinvent their silhouettes in a joyful exploration that recalls children's first experiences as they learn to get dressed, play dress-up, or recognize their own image.
Combining dance, movement, and song, the performance opens a sensitive space where sensations, curiosity, and imagination mingle. Bodies meet, tell stories, and transform through a delicate game that evokes notions of identity, intimacy, and relationships with others, from a toddler's perspective.
Designed for children aged 1 and up, In My Skin offers a moment of discovery and awakening to be shared as a family.
To prepare this creation, the artists were hosted in residence at several municipal daycare centers in Clichy, working closely with the children and early childhood professionals.
