Through five distinct thematic areas featuring over thirty intuitive installations, visitors explore sound phenomena, musical instruments, and the human body as a source of rhythm. From April 3 to August 30, 2026, the experience highlights the world of retrogaming, focusing on 8-bit sounds, iconic video game music, and the works of artist Cartridge 1987. Featuring costumes, a photo booth, and hands-on experiments, this paid experience invites families to discover the expressive power of music in a playful and creative environment.

Play area to explore

The activity path is composed of five thematic universes and around thirty intuitive, hands-on installations that invite children to freely discover the superpowers of music: sounds and sound phenomena, how instruments work, the experience of musicians, the body as an instrument, or music as a language and means of expression.

Our take on this event

Located in the 19th arrondissement, the Philharmonie des enfants is a space dedicated to musical discovery for children aged 4 and up. The permanent exhibition features five thematic worlds where thirty interactive installations allow youngsters to experiment with sound, learn how instruments function, and express themselves through music. This hands-on approach encourages freedom of movement and spontaneous musical engagement for both children and their accompanying adults.

Between April 3 and August 30, 2026, the venue hosts a special focus on retrogaming to coincide with the Video Games & Music exhibition. Visitors can dive into the world of 8-bit sounds, discover the compositions of featured artist Cartridge 1987, and enjoy surprises such as costumes and a photo booth. Please note that while this experience complements the Video Games & Music exhibition, a ticket for the Philharmonie des enfants does not grant access to the exhibition itself.

The venue is open from September 1, 2021, to August 31, 2027. Attendance is subject to a fee and requires prior booking. Families are encouraged to plan their visit in advance to enjoy all the interactive stations available throughout the parcours.
