The Cité des bébés at the Cité des sciences et de l'Industrie offers a dedicated environment for infants to explore and develop until December 30, 2035. This eco-friendly, screen-free space is designed with natural materials, featuring unique installations like Mongolian yurts and snail-shaped tubs for children to discover at their own pace. Alongside open play, sensory activities such as storytelling and puppetry are available to enrich the experience. Visitors can enjoy this space free of charge under certain conditions, with sessions running Tuesday to Sunday, from 09:00 to 12:00 and 14:30 to 17:30.
The Cité adapts to the level of toddlers!
Here, you enter barefoot and with your phone turned off, to be fully with your baby. Designed as a safe nest, centered on the awakening, development and well-being of the child, the Cité des bébés is an original place that welcomes every baby, and the adult accompanying them, in a warm atmosphere.
A place to explore freely
Within this playful and evolving universe, entirely designed for them, toddlers can crawl, walk around, grab, feel, have fun, observe or rest! Tuareg tent, snail bathtub, Mongolian yurt... Each baby explores the place in complete freedom, according to their desire of the moment, under the watchful eye of their companion. Young and old can also take the opportunity to meet each other.
Awaken their senses
Free exploration of the place is the heart of the visit. In addition, activities may also be offered, during which readings, songs, puppets and stories stimulate the baby's different senses. Scientists and early childhood specialists are occasionally present to discuss children's cognitive and sensorimotor development with adults.
A welcoming place for families
The place is designed in an eco-responsible way, without plastic or screens, and favors natural materials. Stroller area, secure lockers for electronic devices, possibility to breastfeed or change your baby: everything is planned for the comfort of young and old!
Our take on this event
Located in the 19th arrondissement, the Cité des bébés provides a nurturing setting focused on early childhood well-being. To encourage undivided attention between adults and children, mobile phones must be placed in secure lockers upon entry. The entire area is designed without plastic, prioritizing natural materials to create a safe, tactile landscape where toddlers can crawl, play, and observe in freedom.
The experience balances unstructured play with organized activities. Families can participate in sessions featuring songs, stories, and puppet shows, or take the opportunity to speak with early childhood experts about cognitive and sensory development. Practical amenities are provided for comfort, including stroller parking and dedicated areas for breastfeeding and diaper changing.
The space is open from Tuesday to Sunday, with daily sessions operating from 09:30 to 12:00 and 14:30 to 17:30. Entry is free under specific conditions. Situated within the Cité des sciences et de l'Industrie, this facility serves as an evolving, playful hub for parents and their young children.
