Eva is 17 years old. Abandoned at birth, she knows nothing about her parents. Until the day an unexpected inheritance turns her life upside down: a dictaphone and dozens of microcassettes recorded by her mother, Anna Duval, a war reporter.

Through these sound archives, Eva travels back in time and gradually reconstructs the destiny of a free, passionate, and elusive woman. From the Lebanese Civil War to the fall of the Berlin Wall, the great upheavals of history mingle with an intimate quest where a daughter tries to understand the woman who gave her life.
