About

Discover the quirky world of the Moute family in Avec les pieds, a whimsical and poignant play written by Nicole Genovese and directed by Jeanne Desoubeaux. The story unfolds when an acacia tree suddenly sprouts in the middle of a dinner table, forcing the family members to confront their fears, attachments, and resistance to change. Suitable for audiences aged 10 and up, this production runs from January 28 to February 6, 2027. Presented in an intimate format outside traditional venues, this show invites you to reflect on how we navigate the unexpected challenges that life throws our way.

At the Moute household, dinner is happening as usual. Well, almost. Because an acacia tree has sprouted in the middle of the family table. Faced with this disruption, the Father resists, attached to his comfort and certainties. Around him, the Mother, joyful and elusive, lets the storm pass, while the Child, a mysterious and surprisingly wise figure, invites curiosity and openness.

Written by author Nicole Genovese and directed in a pocket-sized format by Jeanne Desoubeaux, this burlesque and sensitive fable speaks of change, fear, and attachment. The tree becomes the symbol of what happens without warning and forces us to move. A delightful show to share with the family, which invites you to laugh as much as to reflect on otherness.

Our take on this event

Life for the Moute family is perfectly ordinary until a sudden, inexplicable shift occurs: an acacia tree appears right in the center of their dining table. This bizarre addition disrupts the household dynamic. The Father struggles to maintain his rigid comfort zone, the Mother embraces the storm with elusive joy, and the Child acts as a calm, mysterious guide. It is a burlesque fable that uses this strange botanical guest to explore human reactions to sudden, forced transformation.

The performances are scheduled from Thursday, January 28, 2027, through Saturday, February 6, 2027. Showtimes are as follows: Tuesdays at 20:00, Thursdays and Fridays at 19:00, Saturdays at 18:00, and Sundays at 16:00. Tickets are priced between 9€ and 27€. This event is recommended for ages 10 and older. The production is staged outside of conventional theaters, creating a focused, pocket-sized theatrical experience that encourages the audience to laugh while pondering the nature of change and the presence of the "other."
