IN EVERY SENSE
L'Heure Joyeuse welcomes you for a session featuring readings and the screening of two short films:
- Zoo by Nina Heckel based on the original work by Bernard Friot, France, 2018, 3'49.
Yuna is six years old, she loves to draw and tell stories. And stories are not in short supply, crazy things always happen to her little sister. This time the adventure takes place at the zoo.
- Cat lake city by Antje Heyn, Germany, 2019, 6’41.
Percy Cat is looking forward to a relaxing day at Cat Lake City - the holiday paradise for cats. But things do not go as planned…

Our take on this event
Introduce your little ones to the magic of the movies with a curated selection of whimsical short films. Blending immersive storytelling with gentle screenings, this is the perfect way to spark a lifelong love for cinema in the heart of the city.
The L'Heure joyeuse library joins the Mon 1er festival program, offering a special session that combines storytelling with short film screenings. Located in the 5th arrondissement, this event is completely free of charge and designed to be inclusive, with full accessibility for wheelchair users as well as for the deaf, hard of hearing, and those with cognitive disabilities. It is an ideal cultural outing for families looking to introduce children to the magic of cinema in a welcoming environment. The session is specifically tailored for children from the age of 6.
On October 21 and 22, 2026, the L'Heure joyeuse library hosts a series of cinematic events featuring live readings and film screenings. Highlights include short films such as Nina Heckel's 'Zoo' and Antje Heyn's 'Cat lake city', which are presented in a format suited to young audiences. This initiative is part of the larger Mon 1er festival, which brings a diverse selection of films, avant-premieres, and workshops to various locations across Paris throughout the festival period.
The library ensures a comfortable experience for all, with facilities adapted for wheelchair access and support for visitors who are deaf, hard of hearing, or have cognitive disabilities. As an added benefit, attendees will receive a complimentary ticket for a screening at one of the festival's partner cinemas. Please consult with the library staff regarding registration requirements to ensure your attendance at these sessions.
