Chaillot - Théâtre national de la Danse (Paris 16th)
About
On December 4th and 5th, 2026, the Chaillot - Théâtre national de la Danse hosts the Electro Dance World Cup, also known as the Life’s Round Contest. This competition showcases the raw energy and technical precision of a dance style that emerged from Parisian nightlife in the early 2000s. Dancers from across the globe gather to compete in high-stakes battles, celebrating a movement that has gained worldwide recognition. The event is open to audiences from the age of 8, with ticket prices ranging from 9 to 25 euros, inviting everyone to witness this athletic and artistic spectacle.
Emerging in the early 2000s in various Parisian nightlife hotspots, electro dance exploded into the public eye during the 2007 Techno Parade. As the name clearly suggests, it arises in harmony with electronic rhythms, preferably high-energy ones. Both (hyper) dynamic, ethical, and authentic, it challenges Tectonic, a commercial variant that was quickly absorbed by the media machine.
Since 2007, driven by videos shared online, it has continued to gain followers around the world. With the pieces Elektro Kif (2010) and Elektrik (2017), choreographer Blanca Li gave it true stage legitimacy. In this regard, the young and highly creative company MazelFreten proves just as important, especially with the piece Rave Lucid (2022).
Launched in 2013, the electro dance world championship – Life’s Round Contest (LRC for friends) – further amplified this movement of recognition. The initiative comes from the LRC Officiel association, founded by Jimmy Medina (aka Milliard), a virtuoso and activist for the cause, himself a multiple-time world champion.

Founded in 2013 by Jimmy Medina and the LRC Officiel association, this competition has played a pivotal role in establishing electro dance as a respected stage art, following its rise from the underground club scene and its subsequent evolution through choreographic works.
The event runs over two days. On Friday, December 4, 2026, doors are open from 18:00 to 23:00. On Saturday, December 5, 2026, the battles take place throughout the day, from 11:00 to 23:00.
