The Académie du Climat hosts the third edition of the Parisian Repair Days on October 17, 2026. This free, wheelchair-accessible event invites you to learn how to extend the life of your everyday belongings. From fixing small appliances and bicycles to sewing clothes and repairing stuffed animals, experts are on hand from 10:00 to 18:00 to share their practical skills. Whether you want to learn maintenance techniques or find local resources for repairs, this day is designed for anyone looking to fight obsolescence and adopt more sustainable habits in a collaborative and friendly environment.
As part of the National Repair Days organized by the association Halte à l'Obsolescence Programmée and Make.org, the City of Paris invites you to learn how to extend the life of your objects on October 17 at the Climate Academy: maintenance of wood, shoes, clothes, teddy bears, garden tools, small appliances, sports equipment—you will learn how to repair everything!
Committed to the cause of repair, the City of Paris is mobilizing to offer a new day of discovery and learning about gestures that can save an object.
Repair electronic and electrical devices: it's easy with the Réparothèque! (from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., ages 8 and up)
Try their quizzes and ask your questions about the right habits for your devices. Discover the inside of some electrical and electronic devices to understand how they work… You will also leave with good Parisian addresses for having objects repaired or co-repaired. Long live the culture of repair!
Teddy bears can be healed too with the Ressourcerie du Dixième! (from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.)
Is your teddy bear or stuffed animal hurt? The Teddy Bear Hospital is coming to teach you how to heal it: a few stitches and its boo-boos will disappear. You can go home with your repaired teddy bear!
Maintain or repair your bike with CycloCube! (from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., open to all)
Come and learn about bicycle diagnostics and self-repair: learn to change or true a wheel, apply a patch… CycloCube is there to help you!
Sewing workshops, creative repair, and upcycling with Tendance 19 (from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., ages 12 and up)
Sewing a hole, hemming, replacing a button, shortening sleeves or length, repairing a tear… Come with your favorite clothes—pants, dresses, skirts, sweaters, T-shirts, or shirts—and learn to repair them by hand or machine, guided by our team. A creative workshop, accessible to all, to learn simple sewing techniques and leave with a personalized shirt, full of style and history. Materials provided—bring your garment to repair or update!
Do your garden tools need a little refresh? Don't throw them away, repair them with the Plant B resource center (from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.)
A pruner that no longer cuts, a loose handle, a rusty blade, a dirty tool… Come and learn the right steps to maintain, repair, and extend the life of your garden tools! The resource center will also give you advice on taking care of your plants.
What does a sustainable wardrobe look like? Syctom explains (from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., open to all)
Materials, origin, manufacturing, life cycle, but what do we really know about our clothes?
The Syctom teams will help you learn more about the textile industry, the consequences of fast fashion, and labels and alternatives to guide you through this labyrinth.
Repair everything with the Régie de Quartier Paris Centre! (from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.)
Repair sewing: a tailor guides you to learn how to make small alterations on your clothes: buttons, holes, hems… Simply bring your clothes to be repaired; supplies and machines are on-site!
Repair Café: A volunteer and staff team awaits you to help you repair your small household appliances: kettle, alarm clock, coffee machine, lamp… Don't forget to bring your objects.
DIY and repair furniture for adults and children with Extramuros (from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.)
The association offers to teach you furniture repair techniques: readjusting cupboard doors, installing finishes, maintaining furniture…. Young participants will be able to familiarize themselves with DIY tools by building wooden games.
Repair and maintenance advice for shoes with Les Cireurs (from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.)
How can I make my shoes last as long as possible? Is this problem repairable? Who better to answer you than a professional cobbler? Bring your shoes, he will explain everything!
Embroidery and sewing workshop with Les Effilochées! (from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., ages 12 and up)
Come customize your used clothes to give them a second life with Les Effilochées. The material is provided (sequins, beads, embroidery thread…)—just bring your garment to be updated!
Information and Awareness Point by the City of Paris Department of Cleanliness and Water (from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., open to all)
Come meet City of Paris agents to discuss existing solutions for reusing and recycling your items when they can no longer be repaired.
Waste? Not so sure: the Sustainable Sports Institute teams will make you change your mind (from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.)
Did you know that sports gear can also be repaired? The ISD teams present the repair bonus and help you reuse and recycle your objects. You can even leave with a keychain made from old bicycle tires. Nothing is lost, nothing is created, everything is transformed.

Digital Fresco, a fun workshop on the environmental challenges of digital technology! With the Fresque du numérique association
This collective intelligence workshop, with a comprehension phase, a time for creativity, and a brainstorming phase, allows teams to build a fresco on the ecological impacts of digital technology and explore possible actions to evolve towards a more sustainable digital world where repair plays a great role!

🪛 “Modular Synth” Workshop!—With Collectif RICO in partnership with Yes We Camp and the Buvette du Climat
What are modular synths? They are unique machines that anyone can build from recovered objects, old machines, and modify according to the sounds they want to obtain. With the modular synth, the possibilities are endless! Come meet and try electronic instruments made available by the collective.

🎯🎯🎯 Round table “Cultures of repair: a living heritage?”—With the CNRS, in partnership with the Chamber of Trades and Crafts (CMA)
Repairing means extending the life of objects, but also mobilizing and transmitting essential skills in the face of sustainability challenges. This meeting proposes to explore repair skills as a living heritage: can such recognition strengthen the visibility, capacity to act, and impact of repairers?

Our take on this event
Taking place from 10:00 to 18:00, this event features a variety of specialized workshops. You can explore electronics with the Réparothèque starting at age 8, or visit the Teddy Bear Hospital from 14:00 to 18:00 to mend your favorite plush toys. CycloCube will assist with bicycle diagnostics and self-repair between 11:00 and 17:00, while professionals like Les Cireurs and Extramuros offer guidance on maintaining footwear and furniture throughout the day.
Creativity and textile care are central to the program. From 10:00 to 14:00, Tendance 19 hosts sewing workshops for participants aged 12 and up, and Les Effilochées provide embroidery sessions all day long. If you need help with minor clothing repairs or small appliances like kettles and lamps, the Régie de Quartier Paris Centre will be available from 14:00 to 17:00. Teams from the Syctom and the Institute for Sustainable Sport will also provide insights into textile sustainability and sports equipment repair.
All workshops are free to attend. The venue is fully accessible to wheelchair users. Please remember to bring along the specific items you wish to repair or update to take full advantage of the expert assistance provided.
