Parisian covered passages - guided tour
Trade the bustling streets for a journey into the hidden elegance of Paris's iconic 19th-century shopping galleries. Uncover cryptic mythological symbols and the vibrant past of these architectural gems during an intimate stroll through the city's heart.
About
Your walk will begin in front of the Comédie Française to discover where the very first covered passage, now disappeared, was located. We will then cross the gardens of the Palais Royal to walk through the arcades, former passageways of kings and then revolutionaries. You will retrace the steps of iconic figures such as Vidocq or Nana, while your guide shows you how to decode the mythological or decorative symbols of the Verot-Dodat and Vivienne galleries. We will end on the Grands Boulevards, near the theaters, department stores, and the Opera, where fashionable Parisian society loved to show off its finest attire.
