The ALIMENTERRE International Documentary Film Festival celebrates its 20th edition! For this occasion, the French Committee for International Solidarity, the international coordinator of the Festival, and the association La Case, which coordinates the Festival in Ile-de-France, invite you to a launch event.
Program:
Screening of the film Femmes des Terres (Women of the Land), produced by Ingénieurs Sans Frontières.
Synopsis: Femmes des Terres is a documentary directed by six agronomy students who, during their gap year, share the life stories of peasant women, farmers, and their ancestral traditions, between France, Togo, and Bolivia.
Across the world, Femmes des Terres collects the experiences of women living in very different cultural and social contexts, who nevertheless share common commitments: thus, this documentary focuses on how collective organization among women amplifies the scope of their struggles, promotes their autonomy, and provides a space for support.
The screening will be followed by an interactive session and a round table on the theme “The role of women in agricultural systems: a key to transforming our models in the face of climate and social crises”.
Speakers:
- Mélanie Antin, Project Manager at the UNESCO Chair on World Food Systems and Doctoral student in socio-anthropology, LADYSS, Université Paris Cité
- Cécile Campano, Head of mobilization and partnerships at the sustainable food division of the City of Paris
- Christelle Garnier, Organic farmer, General Delegate at Biocoop Germinal
