About

On November 4, 2026, the Jass Club Paris presents Kristof Négrit in a showcase of his latest project, État d’âme. The Guadeloupean drummer and percussionist invites you to explore a unique blend of Caribbean rhythms, modern jazz, and afrobeat influences. With a career rooted in both traditional island sounds and the Paris jazz scene, Négrit delivers an intimate performance reflecting his personal journey and emotions. You can catch the quartet during one of the two sessions scheduled at 19:30 or 21:30. Tickets for this performance are priced between 10 and 19 euros. It is an excellent opportunity to experience sophisticated live music in the 13th arrondissement.

Kristof Négrit is a Guadeloupean drummer and percussionist based in Paris, raised from childhood on gwo ka, konpa, and zouk within a musical family. A graduate who has performed on both jazz and Caribbean stages, he established himself as an eclectic sideman before asserting his signature as a leader, blending Guadeloupean rhythms, modern jazz, and afrobeat influences.

With his debut album "État d’âme" (State of Mind), Kristof transforms his memories and emotions into an intimate musical journal, where each track explores a color: nostalgia, light, imbalance, hope. Designed for the stage, this project combines Caribbean grooves, sensitive melodies, and improvised energy to create a direct connection with the audience and share the spirit of Guadeloupe far beyond its borders.

Our take on this event

Kristof Négrit brings his debut album, État d’âme, to the stage at the Jass Club Paris, located at 141 Rue de Tolbiac in the 13th arrondissement. Drawing from his childhood exposure to gwo ka, konpa, and zouk, the Guadeloupe-born musician combines his heritage with his technical jazz background to create a deeply personal soundscape. The performance is structured as a musical diary, where every piece aims to capture specific human emotions like hope, nostalgia, and balance.

For this special appearance, Négrit leads a quartet featuring Irving Acao on tenor saxophone, Julian Caetano on piano, and Zacharie Abraham on double bass. Their collective synergy highlights the interplay between melodic sensitivity and the improvisational energy of contemporary jazz.

The concert takes place on Wednesday, November 4, 2026. There are two opportunities to attend: the first set runs from 19:30 to 20:30, and the second set from 21:30 to 22:30. Entry prices range from 10 to 19 euros. Booking ahead is advised for this intimate venue.
