About
Originally from Constantinople, the Camondo bankers arrived in Paris in 1869 and settled on Rue de Monceau. Over the years, the family became known for their commitment to philanthropy and their passion for art collections.
Art historian Alon Hermet will reflect on the history of this family and the works and assets they bequeathed to France, particularly following the death of Moïse de Camondo's son on the field of honor.
The conference will also cover the tragic fate of the Camondo family, several members of which were deported and murdered in extermination camps during the Second World War.
