About
Norwegian saxophonist Petter Wettre, a two-time Norwegian Grammy (Spellemannprisen) winner, launches an ambitious new project: Petter Wettre Scandinavian Unit. This ensemble brings together three exceptional musicians from the contemporary Nordic scene. On guitar is Norwegian Bjørn Vidar Solli, a figure recognized for his lyrical playing and modern virtuosity. The rhythm section is anchored by two Paris-based Swedes: Viktor Nyberg on double bass, the engine of a supple and deep pulse, and Rasmus Blixt on drums, whose inventive energy propels the group into new sonic territories.
With this quartet, Wettre explores a resolutely European aesthetic, blending Scandinavian intensity, improvisation, and a melodic elegance that is uniquely his own. Scandinavian Unit marks a new milestone in the career of a musician who continues to redefine Nordic jazz.
