Paris under the microscope Festival: round table "Paris, precarious housing, inhabiting-sheltering"
Shift your gaze toward the hidden realities of the city in a compelling discussion that explores the architecture of exclusion and survival. It is a rare chance to engage with researchers who peel back the layers of Paris, offering a vital perspective on what it means to build a home in the margins.

About
Paris, like many metropolises, must face the challenges of poverty and exclusion that affect a portion of its population, particularly foreigners and those in exile. This round table will focus both on people in extreme precariousness, their trajectories and their living places (slums, squats, streets), and on the public policies tasked with providing solutions, with varying degrees of success.
Scheduled as part of Paris under the microscope, festival of young research on Paris, this round table is offered by the History Committee of the City of Paris.
Program of this round table:
- Antonin Gay-Dupuy, The shack and the bulldozer: State, local elected officials and the voluntary sector facing slums in the Paris, Lyon, Marseille and Nice agglomerations (1950s - 1990s), University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne.
- Marion Giovanangeli, Women and mothers to watch: reception, assistance and care of homeless families by the city of Paris 1890-2018, Paris Sciences and Letters University.
- Christophe Mazière, Becoming and remaining a peacekeeper: an ethnography of the assistance brigade for homeless people, Paris-Nanterre University.
