About
Love marriage, arranged marriage, dating apps: how is the couple formed today?
Between family expectations, individual choices, and new spaces of sociability, romantic encounters reveal the profound transformations of contemporary Arab societies.
By exploring these different models of couple formation, the round table sheds light on what the modalities of meeting reveal about contemporary societies, but also the way in which new forms of affective and social ties are being invented.
With:
Warda Hadjab, sociologist and associate researcher at IREMAM.
Marion Breteau, anthropologist and associate researcher at CEFREPA Kuwait.
Laura Odasso, sociologist and lecturer at the University of Paris 8, affiliated with the Migration and Societies chair.
