The Maker: Dan Colley / Manus Halligan / Raymond Keane
Prepare for a surreal masterclass in clowning where two bumbling characters blur the lines between slapstick and existential mystery. It is a brilliant tribute to the spirit of Beckett and Keaton that finds profound wonder in the smallest of mishaps.
Théâtre de la Ville – Sarah Bernhardt (Paris 4th)
About
From November 5 to 8, 2026, the Théâtre de la Ville – Sarah Bernhardt presents The Maker, a piece by Dan Colley, Manus Halligan, and Raymond Keane. This performance explores the classic master-servant dynamic through moon-faced clowns and physical comedy, blending amateur magic with metaphysical twists reminiscent of Beckett or Buster Keaton. Suitable for audiences aged 5 and up, the show is fully accessible to wheelchair users, as well as deaf, hard-of-hearing, blind, and partially sighted patrons. Tickets will be available starting September 1, 2026, at 12:00.
One holds a book, the other a broom. Moon-faces and pantomime, here are two clowns replaying the eternal master and servant duo where, as one might expect, the simplest one is not who you think. Irreverent as they should be, they attempt small sleight-of-hand tricks that do not always produce the expected result. A little dance and objects appear; they play with the effects of theater, their act is perfectly honed and they could have stopped there... But then the machine runs wild and the affair takes a more astonishing, perhaps even somewhat metaphysical turn. Beckett and Buster Keaton might be pulling the strings of this strange story from the wings...
