About

The Jazz sur Seine 2026 festival presents Glenn Ferris and his Newtet project at Le Baiser Salé, with performances scheduled from October 2026 through June 2027. The trombonist, known for his work with icons like Frank Zappa and Stevie Wonder, leads a quartet featuring bassist Bruno Rousselet, guitarist Mike Felberbaum, and drummer Jeff Boudreaux. Together, they navigate a genre-defying repertoire blending jazz, rock, blues, and Afro-beat. Audiences can expect original compositions alongside bold arrangements of music by Ray Charles and Bob Marley. Tickets for these performances are priced between 13 and 33 euros.

Known for his expressive playing and his ability to transcend genres, Glenn Ferris – who has collaborated with giants such as Frank Zappa, Stevie Wonder, Billy Cobham, and Archie Shepp – surrounds himself here with three exceptional musicians for a resolutely contemporary musical adventure.

On electric bass, Bruno Rousselet, a pillar of the French jazz scene, combines groove, precision, and rare musicality. On guitar, Mike Felberbaum, recognized for his sharp harmonic sense and inspired improvisations, breathes rock energy and burning modernity into the mix. Finally, on drums, the powerful and subtle New Orleans native Jeff Boudreaux makes the roots of the African-American groove resonate with every beat.

The "Newtet" repertoire mixes original compositions and daring reinterpretations of Ray Charles, Bob Marley, Gino Vannelli, and other iconic figures. Everything weaves a unique sonic patchwork, at the crossroads of jazz, blues, eclectic rock, reggae, afro-beat, and Caribbean grooves. A rare concert, an intense and jubilant musical journey, brought to life by four artists at the peak of their art. Not to be missed under any circumstances!
