It grooves hard with Quint’Up! Led by Mario Canonge and Michel Zenino, this quintet brings together five exceptional musicians around a jazz nourished by hard bop, Caribbean rhythms, and an irresistible desire to share.
Here, everything is movement: the melodies dance, the improvisations take flight, and the grooves take hold without asking for permission. Alex Duthil, on Open Jazz on France Musique, speaks of "a torrent of energy, swing, mastery, and swaying grooves." It is hard to better summarize the experience.
Alongside Canonge and Zenino, we find Arnaud Dolmen, one of the most striking drummers of his generation, winner of the Victoires du Jazz; Josiah Woodson, a Grammy Award-winning trumpeter; and Ricardo Izquierdo, a Cuban saxophonist recognized for the richness of his playing.
